Hello everyone!
My name is Josip Kravar and with my wife Marina we went on our small adventure back in 2015. This is not a typical internet story where we follow our dreams and quit our jobs in search for money, fame, and fortune. It is a step-by-step story with invested love and time. With each blog post you we will tell a story about us, our products and our plans for future.
By that time, we lived a typical fast paced life as a young family in the big city which included long corporate working hours. To be honest we had a good time traveling around the world in our free time and took nothing for granted. It was good for a while but as the years went by, we got tired of the stressful city life and had a wish to settle down in a more rural area and embrace the Mediterranean way of life. At first, we had the dream to grow something by ourselves and we started growing immortelle in 2015. It was a great experience as we raised our plants from seeds in our greenhouses, cultivated and nurtured them in the fields. After some time one thing led to another and we built our distillery and started to explore other plants from the local area.
By 2020 we had our goals clear and decided we want to start an artisan perfumery that will source inspiration from the Mediterranean. I also enrolled into the perfumery art school. We are still working our main jobs and working slowly on our dreams. Maybe it is sometimes better to take a leap of faith and invest everything in something that you love, but our pace is based on our life approach, which is a more relaxed, Mediterranean way of living. This way of living is an inspiration for us as it is opposite from the way the world is rushing right now. It feels more like some old times where people had time to enjoy their life on an everyday basis, not like today where people seem to wait for a vacation to finally live a little every year. We want to picture that life along with nature that surrounds it through our essential oils, blends and in the future through our perfumes.
For a start we want to introduce you to our essential oils. As I already mentioned, our immortelle is grown and nurtured by us, handpicked, and distilled in our distillery. We introduced other essential oils which were picked from the wild and went through steam distillation. We hope that our exploration will lead us to more local growers and that we will introduce more essential oils in the near future. Our goal is not to introduce one more aromatherapy brand with suspicious claims on healing properties.
In the end, Wildflower is not created to be a big company. We do not want that. People take more than they need, and we do not want to overwork ourselves in a rush for more profit. We want to enjoy our life and that is the reason our stock will be limited. We just work in other directions that most companies do.
I strongly believe that perfumes are works of art and real art is never mass produced. We hope that you will stay with us and find out more about this beautiful and interesting world of fragrances.
